Good job again on the last group project! For this week, there are a number of selections, and we are supposed to pick one. The categories are: Instrumental, Popular Vocals, Spoken Word, Spoken Comedy, Foreign Language and Ethnic Recordings, and Opera and Concert Recordings. I suggest something from either the Instrumental or Popular Vocals. What do you guys think? I am still looking over the list to see which one I could use in my classroom in different areas. I teach history so something like the Stars and Stripes Forever March would work for me. Here is a link I found on the background info: Stars and Stripes Forever (Julie)

Hi Julie and Rob,
I am ok with Stars and Stripes Forever. How do I get to it? (Joe)

Here is the link for our project. It is like the 13th song down on the Instrumental selections. Here is the exact link to make it a little easier: Stars and Stripes Forever March . (Julie)

Sorry gang. I'm the one who's late to the party this week. Stars and Stripes Forever works for me too. It looks like this assignment requires us to use separate wiki pages for our discussions this time, so I've gone ahead and created a page to post our NARA worksheets to and a page for our choice & classroom useage discussions. Here's some info on the Imperial Marimba Band http://www.pas.org/Museum/Gerhardt/Artists/imperial.cfm (Rob)

I really like how our page is set up!, very structured and organized! For Part 2, we have to describe at least 5 ways the recording selected could be used in the classroom. How does each of us doing 2 sound? (Julie)

2 reasons per person sounds great to me Julie. We'll be ahead of the curve! (Rob)
